How to make a seamless MySpace Background
Have you ever wondered how to users end up with those repeating backgrounds on their MySpace or blog, without the ugly seams? There is a simply way to get rid of those seams, and all that it requires is an old copy of Adobe Photoshop, and a little thinking. For previews of seamless backgrounds, feel free to view our top notch MySpace Layouts.
First, open up the document you want to make into a seamless MySpace background in Photoshop. Find out the width and height of it by going to Image > Image Size. Make note of this somewhere, and divide each value in half (not in the document, just where you are making note of it.
Now, offset your image (Filter > Other > Offset). Offset the values with half of the total width and total height. This will make the seams much more visible in your document by centering the edges of the background.
Using the healing brush tool, patch tool, or clone tool, blend the seams into the background. If you need tutorials to learn how to use these basic tools, try visiting Good-Tutorials.com, Pixel2Life.com, or GreyCobra.com (among others).
Once you are satisfied with the blending, offset it once more so that it returns to its original look. Make any further corrections that you see fit.
Now, try using it as a background. Below is an example that I have put together to demonstrate the before and after look!
Enjoy, and good luck!
