How to make a Good MySpace Layout
Practically anyone can throw together a layout for MySpace, or even go find some easy to use code to theme their layout for them. However, the truth is that most of these layouts have annoying flashy effects or overused trends. What is the point of a MySpace anyways? To see how well you can blind your sites readers and force them to leave as soon as they arrive?
Of course not! The truth is that we want to communicate information effectively on our MySpace profiles. The ability to also use layouts is a great way to personalize your MySpace, but things are not personalized if you end up using the same thing as everyone else!
You may have already read our guide to making a Bad Layout. Now try to think of a few things when looking for a cool layout to put on your MySpace profile.
- Keep things easy to read. Do not force your users to highlight text to be able to read it. Remember that your content is more important than those flashy images!
- Find a customized layout that specifically meets your interests or style.
- Be original, and stick out from the crowd. If you take the same glitter / trendy / cliche kind of look on your profile, you probably do not seem that interesting to anyone who might want to be your friend.
- Use colors that go well together! When you choose colors that collide real bad, people just will not want to stay at your site!
Remember, you can always find some awesome themes on our MySpace Layouts Page! Be original, and personalize your profile instead of making it like everyone elses!
